KÖNIG LONDON presents a year‑round programme of exhibitions spanning installation, sculpture, painting, photography, moving image, and emerging media practices. The gallery connects artists and audiences through rigorous curation, generous interpretation, and collaboration. Our London space is a site for discovery—of new voices and new ways of thinking—where the experience of art unfolds slowly and with intention.
Working closely with artists at different stages of their careers, the gallery develops projects from initial concept to final installation. Each exhibition is conceived as a distinct environment: some invite quiet looking and careful material attention; others embrace performance, sound, and community‑driven activation. Across these differences runs a shared approach—clarity of ideas, precision of craft, and a willingness to test the limits of form.
Programme & Curatorial Focus
Our programme surveys the many ways artists respond to the conditions of the present: the pressures of technology on the body, the instability of images, the politics of landscape, and the persistence of memory. Projects draw on research from adjacent fields—architecture, science, music, philosophy—folding those influences into the gallery as readable layers. The aim is not to offer definitive answers but to keep questions alive, framed by exhibition design and a set of tools that encourage independent thought.
Exhibitions
Each show is accompanied by concise wall texts and extended materials—essays, interviews, timelines—available in print and online. Installation documentation is published promptly for researchers and audiences who cannot attend in person. Where appropriate, we commission new writing and host public programmes including conversations, screenings, and performances.
Publications
Publishing is central to the gallery’s mission. We produce monographs, artist books, and editioned objects that extend the life of an exhibition beyond the gallery timeline. Publications are developed in close dialogue with the artist and designed to be both portable and durable: a record to study, to teach with, and to pass between readers. Our editorial approach privileges clarity and accessibility without sacrificing scholarly rigour.
Fairs & Off‑Site Projects
At international fairs the gallery presents curated selections rather than generic surveys, often building compact installations that emphasise material detail. Off‑site projects activate unusual locations—architectural landmarks, public plazas, and digital platforms—expanding the ways audiences encounter contemporary art and inviting broader conversations about placement, context, and care.
Architecture & Space
The London space is a flexible instrument. Lighting can be tuned from daylight‑neutral to dramatic, allowing subtle works to breathe and immersive installations to envelop the viewer. Walls promote legibility while accommodating ambitious scales. A discrete workroom supports conservation‑minded handling and packing. The gallery is step‑free and offers seating for those who prefer to experience the exhibition at a slower pace.
Visit
Opening Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00–18:00. Admission is free. Additional hours during openings and special events are announced via our channels.
Accessibility
All public areas are accessible. Large‑print texts and transcripts can be provided; sensory‑friendly hours are scheduled periodically. A detailed accessibility page will be published soon.
Collectors & Advisory
We build relationships based on careful listening and long‑term stewardship. For new collectors we offer guidance on mediums, care, and context; for established collections we facilitate commissions, site‑specific installations, and loans. Condition reports are prepared by qualified technicians, and shipping is managed with attention to environmental impact. Private viewings can be arranged outside regular hours.
Learning & Resources
The gallery welcomes students and educators. We provide study packs for selected exhibitions including reading lists, artwork captions, and discussion prompts. Independent researchers may request access to press releases, installation plans, and high‑resolution images for academic use; details will be available on our resources page.
Sustainability
KÖNIG LONDON is working to reduce the environmental impact of exhibition‑making. We prioritise modular walls, reusable crates, LED lighting, and locally sourced materials where feasible. Printed matter favours responsibly sourced paper and shorter runs with digital access to extended texts. Sustainability is an ongoing practice and we publish periodic updates on our progress.
Press & Image Requests
Press releases, image selections, and interview coordination will be available via a dedicated media request form. Filming and photography in the gallery are welcomed for personal use, provided that visitors respect other guests and the works on display. Commercial shoots must be arranged in advance.
